ALL OF US

As my final post I would like to conclude with this. Even though we may not be famous or smart we indeed are all contributing to the Australian Voice simply by being here and showing others what the Australians are made of.

Isobel Bennett

Isobel Bennett one of Australia’s most well-known marine biologist is also apart of Australia’s Voice . Her field of work was on the coasts of Tasmania and Victoria.  She wrote many books when she was alive such as “The Fringe of the Sea” , “Discovering Norfolk Island” , “A Coral Reef Handbook” and many more. She has continued to spread the Australian Voice by spreading her knowledge to as many people as possible Australian or not.

Henry Lawson

Henry Lawson an Australian poet that was alive in the colonial period is apart of the Australian Voice. Lawson is one the few Australian poets that can be considered Australia’s “best writer”. When Henry was writing his poems he would have had an idea that one his poems he was writing would go far and be remembered for the rest of time. Henrys poems are one of the few that are not confined to our shores. His poems have been recited and studied in other countries such as England , Sweden , Scotland , Germany and the list goes on. Lawson has truly contributed to the Australian Voice by writing these poems and spreading the Voice.

Cathy Freeman

Cathy Freeman is the first Aboriginal women ever to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games . She was also the first Aboriginal women to represent Australia in an international Olympic event. Freeman has one many medals whilst in the life as a runner. Cathy is one of the many people contributing to the Australian Voice. When people see her on television running , they see all of Australia being represented in the one person. So when she runs its as if she is running for and with us, as a whole country.

Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the worlds largest coral reef. The reef is home to many different types of marine life. It also has 3000 different reef systems. How does this relate to Australian Voices? The Great Barrier Reef is one the World Heritage List , so when people are checking for sites to see around the world that are on this list the reef links them straight back to Australia.  This reef apart from being beautiful it is massively huge . This reef is longer and larger than the Great Wall of China , also it is the only living thing that is visible from space .

Russell Crowe

One of the worlds most well-known actors is Russell Crowe. Russell was born in Werrington , New Zealand but grew up on Australian soil. He started off his acting career with Australian television series such as Police Rescue and Neighbours. After spending a few years under the radar , Crowe became a extremely famous actor worldwide with the movie “Gladiator”. After that film he has represented Australia in the world of Actors and Actresses. Now starring in many films that are created and written by other countries , he is certainly spreading the Australian Voice all throughout the world.

Terry Yumbulul

Dot painting is one Australia’s most famous type of painting styles. Aboriginal artist Terry Yumbulul is one the many unique Australian artists that represent Australia on canvas so it can spread worldwide. Dot painting was created by the native aboriginals , because it was there way of passing on stories to their ancestors . Still today there are carvings in ancient and sacred rock that tell stories about old aboriginal folk and the Dream Time.

Steve Irwin

Steve Irwin was one the most famous men that ever lived in the 21st century. Irwin was a man that didn’t fear death from animals but instead challenged himself to understand them. When Steve Irwin died the world was shocked and began mourning the death of their beloved “Crocodile Hunter”. He represented Australia on such a large scale that no other man that is involved with animals could ever compare to this Australian. Even though Steve Irwin has unfortunately passed away his legacy still lives on with us , that we might not treat animals as pests but beautiful creatures that are unique and special.

Sir Edmund Barton

Sir Edmund Barton was Australia’s first prime minister. He was literally the first person to represent Australia and the first person to lead the Voice of Australia. Sir Edmund Barton was born 18th January 1845 at Glebe , Sydney and died suddenly of heart failure on 7th January 1920.  He worked on many things in his life , but the main highlight of his life was the beginning of federation ( uniting on the states ).

Uluru

Uluru is one of Australia’s main tourist attractions , it attracts thousands upon millions of tourists each year. Due to its high ability to attract large amounts of people to its habitat and still keep its aboriginal heritage alive within its surface and surrounding area , Uluru is contributing to Australia’s Voice .
